About
Our
Chapter

American Institute of Chemical Engineers at the University of Minnesota strives to provide students direct access to potential employers as well as an open social atmosphere giving students a chance to work on homework and study together. The principal activities include chemical engineering company presentations and site tours, car team meetings in preparation for student AIChE conferences, as well as social get-togethers throughout the fall and spring semesters.

To become a registered member of your UMN AIChE Student Chapter there are 2 main steps.

  1. First you need to register for the AIChE national organization. Registration for the national chapter is free to undergraduates and comes with many resources that can support your professional development. AIChE nationals will send you a confirmation email which can be forwarded to our student chapter at aiche@umn.edu

  2. Second students must attend at least two meetings or events per semester in order to be considered an active member. Example of vents include:

    • General meetings​

    • Company sponsored AIChE meetings

    • Committee or board meetings

    • Car Team, etc..
